I'm Matteo. I tell stories with light.
«The images show where you were. The voices show who you were.»
Matteo Gagliardi
Racconti Visivi is me. When someone talks to me with passion about something they love, I listen with that same passion, even if it's a subject I know nothing about. I'm not much of a storyteller with words; with a camera in my hands, I am. Video is my way of giving that passion a voice. I'm based in Alfonsine, in the province of Ravenna, and I film throughout Romagna and travel across Italy.
I take on only a few projects at a time, because each one needs its own time: to listen, to film, to edit.
From the first call to the finished film.

Getting to know each other
A no-obligation call: you tell me how you picture the day, and I tell you how I would film it. If it feels right, we secure the date with a deposit.

02
The day
I capture moments as they happen, without ever asking you to repeat anything. Handheld camera, stabiliser or lights: each moment gets exactly what it needs. When the day calls for it, a second camera operator joins me.

The film
In the edit, the footage becomes a story. The film and trailer arrive within 3 months: it's a timeline I can keep, and I never rush the part of the work that matters most.
What you keep from the day.
- The film
- From 8 to 15 minutes, edited as a story. It's the one to watch slowly, perhaps on every anniversary.
- The trailer
- From 2 to 4 minutes: the short version, to send to those who couldn't be there.
- The voices
- Vows, speeches, laughter: I record live sound, so you can hear every word in the film.
- The drone
- It's included in the price, and I fly it whenever the weather and local regulations allow. I'm a licensed and insured pilot.
Four things I never change, whatever the project.
Listening
Before I turn on the camera, I listen. That's how I understand what the story is.
Truth
I never ask for scenes to be redone. The film holds only what really happened.
Discretion
I stay at the edges of the scene, never intruding. But if you need something, I'm there.
Storytelling
I edit every project as a story, with a beginning and an end. It has to hold up ten years from now, not just the week after.
Your story deserves to be seen.
I work with just a few people at a time. If you'd like me to tell your story, let's talk about it. No rush.
