A wedding on a Monday, the 29th of June. A date chosen, not stumbled upon: for Giulia and Michael it held a meaning that needs no explaining. They aren't a couple of perfect phrases and grand gestures, and Giulia was the first to say so in her vows. They built everything without promising too much, choosing each other again and again without ever saying it out loud. "Our way of loving each other is to stay," she wrote. "And in that way of staying that is ours alone, without even noticing, we became home." Then Emanuele arrived, and home grew fuller. Giulia says just one thing about Michael, and she says it watching him with their son: that he's a father who has nothing to prove, someone who is simply there.
